Full disclosure
Who I’m connected with, how shop and competition links work, and why none of it changes a verdict. Last updated 5 November 2026.
My connections
I’m connected with two businesses: Scotch Whisky World, a UK whisky shop, and Highland Vault, a prize competition site run by TVI Fife Limited. I have a business connection with both, so every link to them carries a note saying so.
How links work
A review only links to either business when the match is exact and current. Every such link sits next to a short note saying I’m connected with the business.
| When | What the review shows |
|---|---|
| Exact bottle in stock at Scotch Whisky World | A labelled “Buy” link with the price and the date it was checked |
| Bottle out of stock | No purchase link — an optional back-in-stock alert instead |
| Matching Highland Vault competition open | A labelled link to that competition |
| Competition closed | Link removed; the review stays exactly as written |
| Match uncertain or out of date | No link until it’s checked by hand |
Samples and gifts
A sample or gifted bottle is tasted and scored exactly like one I bought. Its review carries a “Sample” badge next to the score, before the first note.
Independent scores
Every bottle is tasted first-hand and scored on the same five-step card. Stock levels, prices and open competitions never change a score or a verdict.
Responsible drinking
This site is for adults of legal drinking age (18+ in the UK). Please enjoy whisky responsibly — for advice and support, visit drinkaware.co.uk.
